“CALM IS HIS THOUGHTS, CALM HIS SPEECH, AND CALM HIS DEED, WHO TRULY KNOWING, IS WHOLLY FREED. PERFECTLY TRANQUIL AND WISE. “
BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI
Covid-19 has been the leading conversation in media for over a year now, and this global pandemic is dangerously eclipsing one of the oldest ‘virus’ that has affected over a quarter of a billion people to date. Unfortunately, there is no vaccine to this invisible disease.
According to World Health Organization, depression is a common illness worldwide, with more than 264 million people affected. It can cause the affected person to suffer greatly and function poorly at work, at school and within the family. At its worst, depression can lead to suicide. Close to 800 000 people die due to suicide every year. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in 15-29-year-olds.
There are many ways to improve one’s mental health but leading scientists and quantum physicists through clinical trials and researches have supported meditation as one of the most effective way to calm ones mind . Meditation activates the parasympathetic nervous system lowering blood levels of epinephrine, norepinephrine, and cortisol, henceforth improving our overall immune health.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION:
TEACHING: Due to the current travel restrictions, Rinpoche has designed and is offering this 3 days virtual retreat to his global students who are juggling work, family, studies or just coping with life. This 2 parts meditation retreat is simple and succinct, based on Buddhist meditation practice of Zhi Ney or Samatha – calm-abiding. This ancient method is now widely used in the west by the popular term mindfulness practice.
What distinguishes this retreat from all others? Not only will participants be getting direct teachings from Rinpoche, you will also be the first to experience Rinpoche’s OMNIPRESENT MEDITATION SERIES (OMS). His Eminence developed OMS over 12months ago, at the request of many of his overseas students who are missing his teachings and are in desperate need for his support. The meditation series are broken into two parts, giving students enough space between to apply and practice what was taught. Everyone who participates in this retreat will take with them the depth, immediacy of awareness and learn how to apply it to your everyday life. It is ultimately a necessary life skill.
