“If I have any understanding of compassion and the bodhisattva path, it all comes from studying this text” H.H. 14th Dalai Lama

“The Way of The Bodhisattva” is the complete path to enlightenment according to the Mahayana tradition. Enlightenment can be understood as liberation from ignorance and disturbing emotions for the benefit of all beings. Shantideva explains that for this purpose we should cultivate the mind of enlightenment (bodhicitta). We begin the journey by developing a compassionate bodhicitta motivation, that is, a desire to attain enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. To put this compassionate motivation into action, we practice six perfect virtues (paramitas): generosity, ethical behavior, patience, enthusiastic effort, meditative concentration, and wisdom. Developing these virtues frees us from the causes of suffering – ignorance and disturbing emotions – and thus brings great benefit to us and others.

Due to the extensiveness of the topics, H.E. Chung Tulku Rinpoche will teach the entire content of the book in several parts. The first part (chapter 1.-5.) took place the previous summer (2021.), and now we will receive teachings on chapters 6. and 7.
